I'm Janice Thompson MBChB (Hons), PGDipAc, MBAcC. I graduated from the Northern College of Acupuncture in York in 2010, following a three year full time course taught at Masters Level. I was awarded a Post-graduate Diploma in Acupuncture and a qualification in Acupressure Massage.

I am a graduate of Liverpool University, where I was awarded an Honours Degree in Medicine. I have previous work experience as a doctor in medicine, surgery, orthopaedics and psychiatry. I chose to leave medicine and spent several years teaching adolescents with behavioural, social and emotional difficulties.
During my medical training I developed an interest in complementary therapies, particularly acupuncture; I had observed the benefits of this both personally and in friends and family. On deciding to return to healthcare I was keen to approach this from a whole person perspective, treating the individual rather than the symptom, combining all aspects of my healthcare knowledge and training to benefit my patients.
I am a Member of the British Acupuncture Council. Membership requires following a mandatory programme of continuing professional development every year. For me, this has included several training courses including treating pain and stress, anxiety and depression in which I have a special interest.
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council I conform to the highest standards of safety and hygiene. The clinic is licensed with Leeds City Council.
